Meet Rachel

I am a writer of fiction, plays, screenplays, and essays.

My short film, Right to Privacy, premiered at the 2024 Soho International Film Festival and has screened at festivals including the Lone Star Film Festival and the Hamilton International Film Festival. My essay, “Vital Signs,” appeared in Bellevue Literary Review and was listed as notable in The Best American Essays 2024. My novel, On Blackberry Hill, won the 2016 National Jewish Book Award for Young Adult Literature. My work has been published and performed by The Rumpus, Passengers Journal, Byte Showcase, Hemingway Shorts, The Forward, Kveller, Liars' League NYC, Manhattan Lit Crawl, and The Fish Anthology (UK).

I hold an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College, where I was awarded the Grace Paley Fellowship in Fiction. I also graduated from Columbia (BA) and NYU (MA). Currently, I work as a writer and editor of literacy materials and live in NYC.
